The World of Yunda
Yunda is the landmass where the story of Libra takes place. Its map is a current
representation of how far the people have explored and documented the lands. It
is known that other continents could exist, but due to unknown forces, exploration
beyond the land’s borders is impossible.
The province of Yunda is divided into 6 regions.
Foreni
Foreni is the capital city of Yunda and also where most humans reside. They live peacefully under the leadership of the Ravens, who gradually took over the capital after leaving their homes in Dinal. It's the largest region of the province next to Dinal, with vast grassland plains reaching as far as the eye can see.
Formerly home to the now extinct Deer, Foreni is still aknowledged as the heart of the province.
Fox Forest
The Forest has been the home of the Foxes ever since they got exiled from Foreni by the Ravens in the First Era. The dense area covers the entire west of Yunda. Behind the lush trees, the forest gets cut off by steep cliffs, which makes the outside lands unreachable.
The Shrine of Ri-Ja located on the south of the Forest, has been there ever since they got exiled. It's their closest link to their Might Ri-Ja, and with that the only symbol of worship present in the open from all the beast races.
Revas
The fruitful fields and farmlands of Revas to the north are home to both humans and Elks. Given their importance as a trade source with the capital, it's only natural that Foreni aids Revas during the Nachtvries.
Despite the unfortunate position of the fertile soil, the people of Revas have often ignored Foreni's advice to move to saver grounds.
Dinal
To the east lies Dinal, the city of wisdom and home to the Owls. Owls are monks who are known to be the best healers of the entire province. Due to past events, the Owls and the Ravens both went their own ways after ruling the Skies together for centuries.
Lora
To the south lies the impressive plateaus and warm desert lands of Lora, territory of the Felines. It's the only region linked to the lands outside of the mapped world, with unforgiven sandstormes preventing travelers to enter or leave the area.
Benyva
The abandoned lands of Benyva were once inhabited by a Rabbit like folk. The people once aided Foreni is rebuilding Revas during it's first Nachtvries. What happened to them or the region is unknown.
Races
Ravens
Ravens used to rule over the Skies together with the Owls in Dinal. Thanks to their pride, Ravens became envious of the Owls mastering healing and thus getting more favorable with humans. They betrayed the trust of the Owls and the connection between the races fell apart. This led to an instability of the ruling force over the sky, which made the Ravens less powerful and they decided to leave Dinal and go to Foreni.
Their abilities changed overtime, making room to develop telekinesis and illusion spells, and the most common one to this day is controlling the mind. Depending on their genes, some Ravens are able to do magic. It's unknown how this ability developed, since it’s never been documented in the past.
Foxes
Before their exile, Foxes were found all across Yunda and lived together with the other races in peace. Due to their natural charisma and the Ravens’ enviousness, they got chased away to what’s now called Fox Forest. They are very secluded, and have no contact with the other races except for the humans in Foreni city.
Just like other beast races, Foxes also had a primary power which was elemental control over fire. Due to evolution and other events, their power faded over time and it resulted in becoming a weakness to them. Just like Ravens, Foxes have the ability to regenerate, although much slower, and fire is one of the few things that can cause severe damage and in some cases death. However, fire is still used to mark Hunters and the new clan Chief, as a symbol of strength.
Owls
Owls are a very old, calm and wise race, living as monks situated in the high mountains of Dinal. Their home, the Halls of Wisdom, is the centre of all knowledge recorded in the past and present. Owls are incredible healers, and they offer teachings to both humans and other beast races from all over Yunda. They live in peace with the humans who settled in the lower settlement of Dinal, and even encourage humans to partake in courses the Owls offer for both mental and physical endurance, to manage the colder climate.
When they were ruling over the Skies with the Ravens, both of the races were as close as Brothers. The Ravens betrayal weighed heavily on the Owls, and they decided never to respond to any future attempts of contact between the aerial siblings.
Humans
Humans are the largest part of civilization in Yunda, and they are found in every city, mainly the capital Foreni. They have lived in unity with the beast races ever since the beginning of time. While having their own Might and faith, humans respect the Mights of every region, and some even go to certain extends of worshipping other Mights if their situation lends them to (ex.: when they marry someone from a beast race)
Since they share settlements with the other races, their lifestyles has merged together with those of each region they live in, resulting in an extraordinary variety of cultures. Despite a few feuds between some races in the past, they never chose any side to prevent disturbance of the Balance.
